AURORA | There will be no rail service at the County Line and Lincoln stations for more than a week, due to construction along the line, RTD officials announced.
The Regional Transportation District is urging riders to seek alternative transportation from March 16 through March 26. Limited bussing will be available, but the district has partnered with Lyft to provide discounted rides for those who will be affected by the construction.
Riders are being offered 20 percent off rides to and from Dry Creek Station for a maximum of five times.
The closure is due to bridge work on the C-470 Express Lanes and tying together the new 2.3 miles of E, F and R Lines. Overhead catenary wires must be de-energized during construction, according to RTD. That’ll mean trains will be unable to operate.
“We wanted to capitalize on the opportunity presented by having one shutdown to complete our tie-in work at the same time as the C-470 closure, in order to minimize impacts to stakeholders in the corridor,” said RTD General Manager and CEO Dave Genova.
