LITTLETON | With conditions expected to worse going into Friday, the Colorado High School Activities Association has decided to compress the three-day state track meet down to two and contest it Saturday and Sunday.
The meet was supposed to begin on Thursday morning, but an early-arriving snow storm made Jefferson County Stadium unsafe for running events.
In light of Friday’s forecast, CHSAA official chose to shorten the meet to get it in.
Per Ryan Casey of CHSAANow.com, prelims will be eliminated from events and all heats will be converted into timed finals.
Field events will also all be finals and consist of four throws and jumps.
Any scratches were to be reported by Friday at noon and the meet would be reseeded.
A full revised schedule is due out later Thursday afternoon.
