AURORA | With the ball and 4.6 seconds left and a one-point deficit, Smoky Hill was going to do everything in its power to get the ball to Kenny Foster Wednesday night.

The only question would be how.

Junior Quinten Rock found Foster in the far corner and the University of Wyoming-bound star did the rest, draining a quick-release 3-pointer to cap a 28-point night and deliver a 67-65 victory over visiting Regis Jesuit.

Foster scored 10 of his points in the fourth quarter, Rock and sophomore Jalen Weaver contributed 11 points apiece and coach Anthony Hardin’s Buffs — who knocked down 11 3-pointers in the contest — improved to 7-1 with one game remaining before winter break.

Senior Matt Wheelock scored 18 points, senior Daniel Carr delivered 15 and senior Jamil Safieddine added 11 for coach Ken Shaw’s Raiders, who dropped to 4-5 with a road game at Eaglecrest on Friday ahead before break.
