The annual C3 Challenge summer boys basketball tournament returns June 13-15, as 14 teams convene for three days of play at Heritage High School.

With the proliferation of other summer camps and leagues, the Aurora contingent has dropped since the opening days of the tournament — which debuted as the Centennial-Continental Challenge in 2014 — as only Grandview and Vista PEAK will represent the area.

The Wolves and Bison play each other on the first day, with a 11 a.m. meeting slated for June 13 in Heritage’s Main Gym. Grandview and Vista PEAK both play at 9 a.m. against Heritage and Mountain Vista, respectively.

Vista PEAK plays back-to-back June 14 against Castle View (9 a.m.) and Heritage (10 a.m.), while Grandview has a 10 a.m. meeting with Mountain Vista followed by a contest against Fruita at 11 a.m.

The tournament is rounded out by Heritage, Mullen, Mountain Vista, Douglas County, Rock Canyon and Castle View in Grandview’s pool, while Vista PEAK’s pool also has Chaparral, Chatfield, Doherty, Fruita, Thomas Jefferson and Northfield.

Each team is guaranteed to play six games over the three days, with the first two days of pool play followed by a placing round.
