FRANCESCA BELIBI

School: Regis Jesuit High School

Year: Senior

Height: 6-foot-1

2018-19 averages: 21.8 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.4 steals, 2.7 blocks, 2.3 assists

Season highlights: Coach Carl Mattei’s Regis Jesuit team looked unstoppable at times during the 2018-19 season — which ended with a Class 5A semifinal loss to budding local rival Grandview — and so did Belibi, who continued to evolve her game in just her third year playing the sport. Although it didn’t end with a state championship, Belibi’s senior season could hardly have been more full: she signed with Stanford University as part of one of the nation’s best recruiting classes, she became Aurora’s second-ever McDonald’s All-American (joining Grandview’s Michaela Onyenwere), she passed the 1,000-point career mark (in just three varsity seasons), established a new program single-game scoring record of 40 points, threw down an alley-oop dunk on a fastbreak from teammate Avery VanSickle and went viral a few more times with her high-flying game. Belibi led her team with an average of 21.8 points per game that ranked second in 5A and she was one of just a handful of players in the classification to average a double-double as she added 12.3 rebounds per game as well. Belibi led her team in steals (3.4 per game) and blocked shots (2.7 per game), plus added 2.3 assists on her way to All-Continental League honors and a third straight trip to the A-Town All-Star Game.

Belibi vs. Aurora teams: vs. Grandview (32 points, 16 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assists; 6 points); vs. Cherokee Trail (23 points, 19 rebounds, 3 blocks)
