Season highlights: In his fourth season on the varsity at Cherokee Trail, Barfield earned All-Centennial League first team honors to help the Cougars to an 11-14 record and into the second round of the Class 5A playoffs in the final season under coach Morgan Gregory. Barfield was the lone double-digit scorer on the season for Cherokee Trail with an average of 12.5 points per contest, with a season-high of 20 points coming in a game early at the Highlands Ranch Best of Colorado Tournament. He also averaged a team-high 5.4 rebounds and tied with teammate Tyson Rodgers atop the team in assists (2.8) and steals (1.8) per game. Barfield — a two-time A-Town All-Star Game selection — has signed with Lamar C.C.
