AURORA | Cherry Creek School District announced a change in when school will start when weather-caused delays in the morning.
When CCSD decides to put the district on a delayed start due to snow and cold, elementary schools bus pick up will be delayed 60 minutes and school will start at 9 a.m. Middle school bus pick up will be delayed 90 minutes and school will start at 10:20 a.m. High school bus pick up will also be delayed 90 minutes, and school will start 9:50 a.m. — 90-minutes later. School end times when the district is on a delayed start will remain the same along with before and after-school daycare programs.
The district this year began later start times for high-school students every day in response to sleep research about adolescent learning and sleep practices.
While there isn’t much of a chance for a delayed start or cancellation for weather in the near future, when the snow finally comes parents can keep up to date by checking CCSD’s closure website at www.cherrycreekschools.org/Pages/StormInfo.aspx.
