AURORA | One person was killed and another seriously injured in a two-car crash Wednesday evening in the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Blackhawk Street, police said.
Aurora police spokesman Mike Douglass said one of the two cars involved in the crash was eastbound on Iliff and the other was westbound. The two cars collided in the intersection of Blackhawk as the westbound driver was turning left.
One motorists was declared dead at the scene. Another person was rushed to a nearby hospital with what police said were serious injuries.
The intersection was closed for much of the evening, reopening at about 11 p.m. Wednesday.
No other details were released. The identity of the motorists killed in the crash was withheld by police pending notification of family, Douglass said.
