AURORA | Arapahoe County prosecutors say a two-year investigation into an Aurora street gang netted 24 arrests during police raids this week.
The arrests came after a grand jury handed down a 73-count indictment against members of the Rollin’ 60s Crips street gang on charges including attempted murder, robbery and menacing, prosecutors said.
While the raids Wednesday in Aurora, Denver and Arapahoe County netted 24 arrests, prosecutors said they are still looking for one suspect, 18-year-old Roderick Penny of Aurora. Police are asking anyone with information on Penny to call police at 303-627-3100.
Aurora police interim Chief Terry Jones said several agencies — including Aurora police and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force — worked together to make the investigation possible.
“Investigations such as these can be extremely complex, especially when dealing with alleged organized criminal elements. It is good to know that law enforcement agencies can work together to keep our communities safe. Vigorous investigation and prosecution of alleged lawbreakers benefits the entire community,” he said.
Several of the suspects were booked into the Arapahoe County Jail on $500,000 bond.
